Some are unpublished; others are proofs of published works. Many are autographed, dated, and contain Symons' edits. Most are holographic, in either pen or pencil, with some typescript. Clippings and reprints of articles by him are also present. The inventory file contains photocopies of catalog cards describing each individual manuscript.

 Abstract:  The Old Abe mine, in White Oaks, New Mexico, produced a million dollars worth of gold from one of the deepest dry mines in the world. Its true vein was discovered in 1890 by William Watson, who shared ownership with seven other people, named in the back of the book. One volume, lists dividends, expenses and receipts from 1890-1891. It is accompanied by photocopies of five articles from the Lincoln County (N.M.) News, from 1956-1958, relating the history of the mine and the area.
